How do I purchase a Gift Voucher?
- Login to your existing account or create a new one.
- Personalize your Gift Voucher with To, From, amount and a unique message (optional).
- Select 'Add a Gift Voucher' to buy additional Gift Vouchers OR 'Checkout' to finish your purchase.
What can I buy with a Gift Voucher?
You can use your Gift Voucher to buy any title(s) from the WHSmith eBookShop catalog of thousands of popular eBooks.
Can I use a Gift Voucher to buy physical products such as books, CDs, DVDs, videos, etc at WHSmith.com or for any products sold through their retail stores?
No. A Gift Voucher can only be used to purchase digital products at the WHSmith eBookShop.
How do I view Gift Vouchers I have already bought?
Simply go to 'My Account' to view a list of previously purchased Gift Voucher.
Can I purchase multiple Gift Vouchers?
Yes. You can purchase up to 10 Gift Vouchers at one time.
In what amounts can I purchase a Gift Voucher?
You can choose any amount for your Gift Voucher (i.e. £19.99, £25.00) between £5 (minimum) and £100 (maximum).
Can I add my own personalized message?
Yes.
Can I see my Gift Voucher before I purchase it?
Yes. You will be able to preview your Gift Voucher and make any edits before purchasing.
How is my Gift Voucher delivered?
Your Gift Voucher can be delivered via email immediately upon purchase.
Can I select a specific date for email delivery?
Yes. Simply enter the month, date and year in this format -- (mm/dd/yyyy) when filling out the Gift Voucher form.
I don't want my Gift Voucher emailed. Can I print it out and hand-deliver?
Yes. Upon purchasing, you will be able to print out your Gift Voucher.
I printed a Gift Voucher but it does not look like the one I previewed. What should I do?
For best results when printing a Gift Voucher, please use Internet Explorer as your web browser (click here to download Internet Explorer). Once you have opened Internet Explorer and displayed your Gift Voucher, adjust the browser settings as follows:
- From the Internet Explorer menu bar, choose Tools > Internet Options > Advanced.
- Scroll down to find the heading 'Printing', and check the box next to 'Print background colors and images'.
- Click 'Apply', then click 'OK'. Print the Gift Voucher again.
Do you charge sales tax for Gift Vouchers?
No VAT (sales tax) is charged when buy a Gift Voucher; however, purchases paid for with a Gift Voucher will be charged applicable VAT.
How is my Gift Voucher applied to my order?
The total value of the Gift Voucher will be applied against the total order amount including applicable VAT. If your order exceeds the amount of your Gift Voucher, you must pay for the balance with a credit card.
How do I redeem my WHSmith eBookShop Gift Voucher?
To redeem a Gift Voucher, at checkout enter your Gift Voucher Code into the 'Discount Information' field and click the 'Update' button. The value of the Gift Voucher will be applied against the total amount of your purchase.
Can I still use the remaining credits on my Gift Voucher?
You may re-use a Gift Voucher until the entire value is applied to purchases at the WHSmith eBookShop. For example, if you have a £20.00 Gift Voucher and make a £12.00 purchase, the remaining balance (£8.00) is available for use on a future purchase. You must re-enter the Gift Voucher Code at the later date to use the remaining credit. Keep your Gift Voucher Code private as it may be used by any customer presenting the Code at checkout.
